Black Walnut Dye

My neighbor gave me some Black Walnuts for my latest project. I spun up 1264 yards of Mohair from my Angora Goat "Michael".
Then I put the old nasty looking walnuts that had been in a plastic bag waiting for me to finish spinning, in a pot. I boiled them for about an hour. Then I let it cool before straining out the nasties. I added the yarn and slowly brought it up to a simmer. I left it on for an hour. Then I turned of the heat and let it cool in the pot overnight. In the morning I had beautiful dark chocolate yarn!
I plan to make a vest out of it with a celtic cable running along the front edge and the neck.... wish me luck! I'm sort of creating the pattern from several patterns combined.
