Left over Easter Surprise

This is some Mohair Yarn that I dyed in the water that was left over in the cooler after I did the Easter Surprise batts. I love the color. Now what to make...?

Easter Surprise Yarn

Here is some of the easter Surprise batts all spun up and ready to go.

Easter Surprise Project

I call this my Easter Surprise Project because I set it up the night before and saw the results on Easter morning.
This was my 1st experiment in cooler dyeing. I took some wool batts that I had processed on my drum carder and layered them in a cooler, sprinkling the layers with 6 different shades of blue, green and yellow dye. Then I covered them with boiling water - being carful not to stir them up. Then I added more boiling water mixed with vinegar and poured it all over the batts. I closed up the cooler and didn't peek until Easter Morning. This is how my dyed batts looked.

New Weaving Project

I finished the 1st project on the Baby Wolf. I made a scarf and a table runner. Both are made with the same threading, different tie-up and treading. I tied the blue to the brown on the warp so they could be done on the same warping. I think they came out great.

New Baby Wolf

I got a Baby Wolf !! I have lots of plans for it. The 1st thing is a set of scarves. Then I plan to do a series of dish towels. Wish me luck!

Rib Fitting Vest

I finished the Elizabeth Zimmerman Rib-Fitting Vest. I love it. It's all hand spun. I used the Rambouillet/Mohair rovings I bought at SAFF and trimmed it w/ my Mohair/Angora yarn I made (in an earlier post). It's really comfortable and I think I'll get a lot of wear out of it. In fact I already have plans to make one out of some greenish rovings I have.
